“Do it your way, stop looking for someone with the rule book.” – Seth Godin.
One of the things I love about being an online entrepreneur is that I don’t need to explain who Seth Godin is. I can say without a doubt or regret that Seth Godin has been one of the most inspiring leaders to me, both personally and professionally. I’ve been following this man for so many years, I’ve bought his books, read his work, the whole shebang. Okay, I don’t read his emails everyday, but you get the picture.
When I was looking for inspiration on my latest clients’ branding, I stumbled upon a YouTube video from Evan Carmichael with the 10 rules of Seth Godin. Super inspiring! After reading the rules and watching the video, I thought to myself: are these really rules? Or is the “rule” to break the rules?
The creatives, the rebels, and the misfits change the game because they embrace what they are with courage, they never settle, never blend in. Their brand is an extension of who they are, what they do and the change they’re here to make in the world. Check the rules below and share your thoughts, I can’t wait to hear from you.
So Seth Godin’ rules are:
1. Do it your way
2. Tell your story
3. Be patiently impatient
4. Refuse to settle for average
5. The product is the marketing
6. Spread your ideas
7. Decide carefully
8. Life is a series of dips
9. Navigate without a map
10. Create something remarkable
Good stuff! Come as you are, take a leap of faith in your life and in your business. The rulebook is yours, and yours alone.
